Streams Available

Post-Vocational Education Work stream – for graduates with vocational qualifications in areas of need (usually up to 18–24 months).
Post-Higher Education Work stream – for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral graduates (2–6 years depending on the degree).
Second Post-Higher Education Work stream – for students who studied and remained in a regional area (extra 1–2 years).

Recent Updates

Extensions announced for selected degrees in high-demand areas:

• PhD graduates: up to 6 years
• Master’s graduates: up to 5 years
• Bachelor’s graduates: up to 4 years
• Extra regional bonus years still apply

Fields like nursing, allied health, teaching, veterinary science, engineering, and IT are included.

Be under 50 years old
Hold a recent qualification from a CRICOS-registered course
Meet English language, health, and character requirements
Apply within 6 months of completing your course
